Thank you for your continued support at this challenging time. You will all have seen the Government announcements about proposed phased returns of certain year groups from the beginning of June and I’m sure that you have lots of questions.
Firstly, any phased return to school will involve detailed and rigorous risk assessments for both staff and children and we are currently working on what these risk assessments will look like. We would not expect to be ready to reintroduce any more children into school until 8th June at the earliest.
Any re introduction of year groups to school will not involve full classes and will most likely involve children on some sort of rota and possibly staggered starts and finishes. We will need to introduce a variety of safety measures, social distancing, repeated hand washing and other necessary safety precautions. Provision in school will be very different from what the children and any of us are used to. Learning will not be able to be delivered in the usual way and activities will have to be planned carefully. Children will not be able to sit together and work collaboratively for quite some time. Playtimes and lunchtimes will need to be staggered with children sitting away from each other. We will support all children and adults to get used to and adhere to what will be very different routines and safety expectations.
We will endeavour to keep you updated as often as we can, but in the first instance if you are a parent of a child in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 or Year 6, please complete the short survey below.
