EYFS
In EYFS at Lyndhurst, the curriculum is designed to recognise children’s prior learning from previous settings and their experiences at home. We aim to provide first hand learning experiences, which encourages the children to develop their own ideas, trying different ways to do things, persevering when something does not work. Every child is recognised as a unique individual and we celebrate and welcome differences within our school community.
We provide opportunities to engage learning and believe that our first experiences of school should be happy and positive, enabling us to develop a lifelong love of learning. We recognise that everyone has different beliefs and celebrate special times in different ways. Accordingly, we embrace and celebrate different faiths in Early Years sharing family experiences and traditions and customs.
Throughout their time in EYFS, the children develop a sense of belonging to our school community, ready for transition into Year 1 the following academic year. Nurturing their confidence and skills to make decisions and self-evaluate, make connections and become lifelong learners.
